All matches from the CEV Champions League are streamed live on EuroVolley.TV, where you can also access a full library of matches om demand, highlights and more.
Conegliano dominant against Fenerbahçe
These two huge European clubs first faced each other in the 4th Round of the 2017/18 season of the Champion League and since then they have met four more times, with all these matches ending in wins for the Italian side. In this season's reverse match on 10 December, Paola Ogechi Egonu (18, including four aces) and Kimberly Hill (12, including four from blocks) reached double figures in points for A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO, while Brankica Mihajlovic (10) achieved this for Fenerbahçe Opet ISTANBUL.
Conegliano’s flawless start to the season
The Italian giants coached by Daniele Santarelli have had an amazing start to their Champions League season winning all their five matches from the fourth round in straight sets. A similar win today would make them the first team to record a perfect score in the 4th Round since Igor Gorgonzola achieved this in 2018/19 and would extend their flawless run of straight sets wins in the competition to 11 matches.
Despite a multitude of volleyball stars taking to the court in our Match of the Week, all eyes will once again be focusing on Italian superstar Paola Ogechi Egonu who has once again been performing on the highest level. With 59 points so far and an incredible 6.56/set average, highest average in the competition, Paola is Imoco’s top scorer, recording 9 Aces on the way, most of all players.
Fenerbahçe looking for redemption
The Turkish side from Istanbul has been having a good season, managing 4 wins so far in the round, their only defeat coming at the hands of Imoco in the reverse fixture, their 5th consecutive lost in their direct encounters.
Coach Zoran TERZIĆ will be hoping that tonight his main weapons in attack Brankica Mihajlovic (64 pts) and Melissa Vargas (60 pts), his team’s top scorers, will be continuing their impressive scoring runs. At the net, another interesting battle with Fenerbahçe’s Eda Erdem and Imoco’s Bozana Butigan in fine form, managing 11 winning blocks each, 3rd best in the 4th Round of the CEV Champions League Volley.
Melissa VargasEvery match we play in the Champions League is an opportunity for us to learn new things. Ithink we have gained important gains and experiences in both games we played last. Conegliano is a strong team made up of good players. That's why a tough and exciting match awaits us tomorrow. But when we fight as a team, we are strong enough to get great results in such big matches.
