CEV Champions League Volley 2025 | Women
Rough season for the German Champions so far in the CEV Champions League Volley Women, winning only one of their four matches and finding themselves in last place of Pool E. However, with to matches to go, both on home court, Stuttgart will be hoping to give their tumultuous season a glimmer of hope when they meet Bielsko Bala later today.
A three-time Champions League quarterfinalist, Allianz Stuttgart has had to play three of their first four matches away from home, facing pool favourites, Savino del Bene Scandicci twice in that run. After the Christmas break, they now find themselves with just the three points in the bag, having to push hard to get a play-off spot or even the best third place at the end of Round.
First hurdle, the Polish side from Bielsko-Biała, the team that took the first 3 points away from Stuttgart in the opening match of the Champions League Volley 2025 season. Former player and German national setter Pia Kästner's return to the club will be a welcome boost, with recent team form also picking up in recent national league matches, including a win against fourth place Potsdam.
Antonia Stautz (#6): “This is one of the most important matches in this CL-Pool. Bielsko-Biala is a very athletic team; it will come down to tactical margins in this game. We have not reached our full potential in Poland and want to try better here at home. We want this win to still have the chance to move to the next round.”
Headcoach Konstantin Bitter:“Bielsko is a very physical team. We will face certainly a different challenge than on the weekend in the league. We have to take our chances. We are very excited for the game, a full gym and both teams will leave everything on the pitch. It is going to be a fight.”
Julia Nowicka (Bielsko-Biala):“It is great to be back, can’t wait to feel the atmosphere at SCHARRena again and meet familiar faces! It will be a tough game and I expect great performances from both sides.”
