Sosnowiec Arena witnessed history on Tuesday evening as Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie secured their place in the Final Four of the CEV Champions League with a 3-1 win over SVG Lüneburg (25-19, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20).

Aluron

Aluron took control early with accurate serves and effective attacks. With support from the home crowd, they kept their lead and secured the set 25-19.

The second set followed the same pattern, with Aluron dictating the pace and shutting down Lüneburg’s attacks. Another 25-19 win put them one step away from the semi-finals.

The third set started with Lüneburg taking an early 4-0 lead. Aluron responded steadily, leveling the score at 13-13. Coach Winiarski made key substitutions, allowing Lüneburg to regain momentum and edge out a close 25-23 win, extending the match.

Regaining control, Aluron delivered a well-balanced attack, led by Miguel Tavares Rodrigues and Bartosz Kwolek. They closed the match with a decisive 25-20 win, securing their historic Final Four qualification.

MVP Performance

Miguel Tavares Rodrigues delivered a standout performance, earning the MVP title with 3 winning spikes, 7 points, and 4 aces. His precise setting and decisive plays were instrumental in guiding Aluron to victory.

I’m really happy we qualified for the Final Four, it was our dream from the beginning. We achieved our goal and now everything’s possible. After winning two sets I believe that we couldn’t find our rhythm in the third set. But in the fourth set we started again to play our volleyball.

Michał Winiarski
Head Coach Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie:

I’m proud of the guys. We played the game on a good level, but it wasn’t enough for a team like Zawiercie. But it is important for us that we left the court with the feeling “okay it was what we could do, it could be a little bit better than our home match”. We are happy for our bench guys, that they can play a bit.

Head Coach SVG Lueneburg:
