The second set had far more competitive beginning. Up until 8-8 it was a point-by-point race, but then powerful serves from Marrit Jasper and killing blocks from Monika Fedusio made the difference, and Developres jumped to 12-8. With great team effort, the hosts kept the score safe, showing consistency and flawlessness. They immediately used the first set ball to seal a set win 25-18 and book their spot in the last eight.
After securing their goal, Developres struggled at the beginning of the third set, and Stuttgart took this opportunity, leading 7-5 after great kills from Krystal Rivers. Anna Smrek and Elena Pietrini took the reins in attack and moved Vero Volley to 19-16. Having their back against the wall, Schwerin, powered by Leana Grozer and Elles Dambrink, managed to reduce the gap once again to 21-20, but then again Kontantinidou had a great serve run. Alessia Orro gave the final touch, scoring with a tip the last point in the second set, 25-21, that guaranteed them a spot in the quarterfinals.
