Fenerbahçe defeats VakıfBank in the first leg quarter-finals of the CLvolleyW

Fenerbahçe secured a crucial 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 29-27) victory against VakıfBank in the first leg of the CEV Champions League Volley Women 2025 quarter-finals at Vakifbank Spor Sarayi ISTANBUL. 

Fenerbahçe came out strong, quickly establishing a lead. At 17-23, VakıfBank attempted a late comeback, narrowing the gap to 20-23. However, Vargas' powerful spike sealed a set point at 20-24, ultimately closing the set at 25-21 in Fenerbahçe's favor.

The second set proved to be a tough fight, with both teams showcasing their resilience and skill. Fenerbahçe managed to maintain their composure and clinched the set 25-23, further solidifying their lead in the match.

The last set was the most intense of the match. Both teams fought hard, and at 20-20, Asli Kalaç's smash leveled the score, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.  The tension grew as each team pushed for the win. A crucial service error by VakıfBank's Kiera Van Ryk at 23-23 gave Fenerbahçe their first set point. After an intense back and forth, Fenerbahçe eventually sealed the win with a 29-27 victory, completing their sweep.

Arina Fedorovtseva emerged as the MVP player of the match, delivering an impressive performance that contributed to Fenerbahçe's win. The young star amassed 13 points, including 3 aces and 1 kill block, showcasing her versatility and impact on the court

This away victory puts Fenerbahçe in a strong position as they head into the second leg on their home court.
