On Tuesday night, Halkbank Ankara and Allianz Milano faced off in the second leg of the Champions League volleyball match at Arena Busto Arsizio. Halkbank had won the first leg 3-1, giving them an early advantage.

Milano fought hard, winning the match 3-1 to even the score and push the game to a golden set. Both teams gave their all, but in the final moments, Halkbank held their ground and won the deciding set. With this victory, they secured their place in the 2025 Champions League Volleyball quarter-finals.

The match began with Milano taking full control and playing with precision. They dominated the first set, winning 25-16, and edged out Halkbank in a tight second set, 26-24. With two sets secured, Milano looked well on their way to victory, their players moving smoothly across the court, delivering powerful spikes and sharp serves.

But Halkbank Ankara was not ready to back down. Determined to turn the game around, they fought hard in the third set, pushing past Milano’s defense and taking it 25-23. The intensity grew as both teams battled for every point. Milano, eager to close the match, pushed even harder in the fourth set. The teams traded points in a back-and-forth struggle, neither willing to give up. Finally, Milano managed to edge out a 28-26 win, sending the match into a golden set.


With both teams tied on wins (1-3, 3-1), everything came down to the golden set. Both sides fought hard, refusing to give up a single point easily. In the end, Halkbank narrowly defeated Milano 15-13, securing the victory and earning their place in the men's Champions League Volleyball quarter-finals.

In this crucial moment, Marek Sotola stepped up for Halkbank Ankara. He led his team with an outstanding performance, scoring 32 points, including 4 blocks and 28 winning spikes, making him the top scorer of the match.
