In a memorable CEV Champions League debut, MINT Vero Volley Monza secured their first-ever victory with a 3-2 win over Olympiacos Piraeus in a hard-fought match at Opiquad Arena.
The opening set saw Olympiacos take an early lead, despite Monza's efforts to break away. The Greek team's strong blocking, led by Tzourits' three key blocks, helped them secure a 25-20 win.
Monza came back strong in the second set, taking control early and holding their lead throughout. They won 25-20, with Ibrahim Lawani scoring 4 points.
During the third set, there was a close contest. Monza, with Zaytsev's powerful serves, started strong, but Olympiacos fought back to tie the set. To close out the game, Olympiacos won 28-26 with 10 points from Atanasijevic.
Monza fought back in the fourth set, with the lead switching several times before they won 25-23, forcing a fifth set. As a result of a strong serve from Marttila, Monza won the tiebreaker 15-8, securing the victory and celebrations at Opiquad Arena.
