CEV Champions League Volley 2025 | Men
Olympiacos ONEX celebrated the first victory in the group stage of the Champions League, winning against the Grizzlys in a packed Rendi
Thrylos reached 4 points and moved up to 2nd place in Group 2, one point behind the leader Monza. The Piraeus team fought with great passion and did not even buckle under the problem they faced at the diagonal position.
Aleksandar Atanasijević was sidelined due to injury (the same goes for Zoupanis, who is yet to return) and so Djuric started in the opposite role, who retired in the finale of the 2nd set with an injury problem, with the winger Koumedakis shifting to that position!
Nevertheless, the 'reds' showed huge mental reserves, were boosted by their more than 1700 fans who filled the Rentis sports hall and enjoyed high level volleyball and with Perin as MVP (20 points), celebrated a great victory in the group stage of the CEV Champions League Volley 2025.
Andrea Gardini“A very tough match. We had a lot of players out, it wasn't simple. I'm proud of my players, they reacted extremely well. We played without an opposite today! I'm very happy for the team. Because we were a team, we are a team.” Gordon Perrin : “I am very excited, we got our first victory in the CEV Champions League, at home, in front of our fans. It was not easy at all. We played excellent defense. Every one of us stepped up. A team victory! Let's go, Olympiacos!”
