In a historic match for the club, PGE Grot Budowlani Łódź secured a 3-1 (25:23, 25:18, 24:26, 25:14) victory over Serbian side Tent Obrenovac, earning their first-ever spot in the Champions League quarterfinals.
The first set was a tight contest, with both teams going head-to-head. However, in the closing moments, the Polish team remained composed and secured the set 25-23.
In the second set, PGE Grot Budowlani Łódź increased the pressure, quickly taking control. With powerful attacks and solid defense, they confidently closed the set at 25-18.
The third set turned out to be the most intense. Tent Obrenovac put up a strong fight and capitalized on their opponent's errors, narrowly winning the set 26-24.
In the fourth set, the Polish team demonstrated their dominance, controlling the game from start to finish. Strong serves and effective blocks allowed them to seal the match with a convincing 25-14 win by the ace.
The MVP title of the match was well-deserved by libero Justyna Łysiak, whose outstanding defensive performance played a crucial role in her team's success — 74% positive reception and 32% excellent reception.
In the quarterfinals, Maciej Biernat’s squad will face Italian club Savino Del Bene Scandicci 12th of March.
