CEV Champions League Volley 2025 | Men
The third matchday of the 4th round of the CEV Champions League Men is upon us, so we are getting back into the groove with the CEV Champions League Men Fantasy, after the first round saw a fairly successful performance from our team.
The first-of-its-kind experience for CEV, gives fans the opportunity to become the coach of their own team across the men’s and women’s European premium competitions. Fans can pick a team of twelve players with specific assigned positions inside a dedicated team budget of 100 million euros.
Haven’t you already signed in and chosen your team? Don’t worry, we got you covered.
So, the rules are quite simple and can be found here. To start, you must select a squad of 12 players with an initial budget of 100 million fantasy euros. The initial squad selection must consist of: three outside hitters, three middle blockers, two setters, two liberos and two opposites. You must select 7 players from your squad of 12 players to form your starting roster for each game week.
Of course, the risk of having a player not featuring on the court is high, so you will also have five reserves in the team, who can come on, provided the stars are not playing. We have learnt and adapted and now we get ready to our third draft in the CEV Champions League Men Fantasy.
KEY STARS
Jack Hanes (€10m): The opposite position is the most crucial in this game, with the top five players with the largest number of points being opposites. So who are we gonna trust here? We picked Jack Hanes, who has enjoyed a stellar start of the season, being the top scorer of the 4th round, with 52 points. The Berlin Recycling Volleys star had 157 points so far, tied with Halkbank’s Marek Šotola, but the German side looks to have an easier path to a win in this matchday, facing Projekt Warszawa in the next match.
Norbert Huber (€12m): We are going again for Huber, who has six blocks so far in the competition, only two shy of the first place. Huber also have 20 points scored, an average of 3.33 points won per set. Huber is the fifth blocker in the Fantasy competition, with 79 points, 21 of which came in the last match. Huber’s Jastrzebski Wegiel play against Luneburg in this round and will aim to extend their winning streak to three matches, having not dropped a set so far.
Seppe Rotty (€10m): Knack Roeselare have lost their first two matches, winning only two sets in their openers, but they will face Tirol Innsbruck, a team which won a single set so far. However, Seppe Rotty has been superb in these matches, scoring 42 points, being the sixth best scorer of the competition. Rotty has 134 points, being the top outside hitter in the CEV Champions League Men, and will be relied upon this time too, as he will be influential for Roeselare trying to secure their maiden win of the season.
KEY DIFFERENTIAL:
Miguel Ángel Fornés (€6.5m): Fornés has 16 points scored so far in the competition and could very well be a key differential for Greenyard Maaseik in their third match of the season. While Fornés is not between the top middle blockers in the Fantasy game so far, he could very well create a good performance in a crucial match for Maaseik in their away trip to ACH Ljubljana, having put a show in the last match, scoring 43 points in the Fantasy game.
