Women's volleyball has not been easy this season in the women's CEV Champions League volleyball. VakifBank Istanbul had tough matches, strong opponents, and moments that tested their teamwork. However, two players stood out: Kiera Van Ryk and Yuan Xinyue. As a result of their distinct styles and consistent performances, the team has reached the Final Four.

Kiera Van Ryk: Offensive Powerhouse

Kiera Van Ryk, the Canadian opposite hitter, has been one of VakifBank’s most trusted players. She has scored 124 points, including 102 winning spikes, showing how often the team could count on her to finish plays.

One of her biggest moments came in the quarterfinal match against Fenerbahçe. After VakifBank suffered defeat in the first leg, they needed a victory in the second to remain alive in the tournament. Van Ryk delivered brilliantly with 22 points, helping her team win the match and reach the Golden Set, which they went on to win. Her composed and precise performance under pressure proved decisive.

Yuan Xinyue: Defensive Anchor

Yuan Xinyue joined VakifBank in August 2024 from Tianjin Bohai Bank. At 203 cm tall, she brought strength and experience to the team’s defense. Fans were eager to see what she could do, and she delivered.

As a middle blocker, Yuan made things difficult for the other teams. She finished the quarterfinal round with 74 total points, including 18 blocks and 8 aces. In the second leg against Fenerbahçe, she added 11 points, blocked important shots, and made quick attacks that helped her team take control. Her quiet focus and smart decisions on court have been a big part of VakifBank’s success.
