Olympiacos got off to the perfect start, with Christian Fromm smashing home the opening point to put the hosts in control early. They led 17–14 and looked comfortable, but Guaguas had other plans. At 8–5, Gordon Perrin delivered a forceful serve that energized his team, sparking a steady comeback. Guaguas gradually erased the deficit, leveling at 20–20 before completing an impressive rally to take the first set.
The second set saw Olympiacos respond quickly. They tightened their block, moved the ball well, and stayed aggressive at the net to draw level at one set apiece.
The third set was a fierce battle, with both teams exchanging points in long, intense rallies. Guaguas eventually seized the advantage by capitalizing on small mistakes from Olympiacos, pulling ahead to win the set 25–18.
The fourth set saw Olympiacos push to force a decisive fifth set. They started well and led 16–13, but Guaguas rallied to tie it at 16–16. The hosts regained a narrow lead at 24–22, just two points from victory. However, Guaguas fought back fiercely. A critical challenge at 24–24 went in their favor, shifting momentum. They then completed the comeback, winning the set and the match.
Osmany Juantorena Portuondo was the standout player, earning MVP honors with 20 points, including 1 ace and 2 kill blocks. His calm leadership and experience were crucial in key moments, helping Guaguas maintain composure and secure the win.
