Legendary libero De Gennaro to continue playing for at least another season

Monica De Gennaro will continue to play for A. Carraro Prosecco DOC CONEGLIANO for another year. The announcement was made by the club on the eve of the Coppa Italia Final Four, which is due to take place this weekend in Turin. The legendary libero, recently named the World’s Best Player for 2025, now 39, has been wearing the shirt of the ‘Panthers’ since 2013, thereby contributing to winning all 29 trophies in the club’s history.
‘Moki’ is the idol of all the Palaverde fans, an example for generations and an exemplary champion, both for her exceptional technical skills and for her role as a unifying force off the court.
“I have decided to continue. As long as I am having fun and my body allows it, I will keep going, and I am happy to announce that I will be a Panther again next year,” said Monica De Gennaro, commenting on her contract extension. “After so many years, this is home, and I cannot see myself wearing any other colours! I will give it my all next season, as I have been doing for this jersey for a long time. I love this environment and our fantastic fans. My teammates and I are fortunate to work and live in a club that supports us and has big ambitions for the coming years, the same ones I have. I am still highly motivated and eager to have fun while wearing ‘my’ Prosecco DOC Imoco Volley jersey.”
De Gennaro is an Olympic, World, and European champion with Team Italy and among other distinctions a three-time #CLVolleyW winner with CONEGLIANO.
