Some matches came down to patience and composure. When rallies stretched and leads changed hands, the difference was often the players who stayed focused and did the basics well until the final point.

As the play-off stage of the CEV Champions League Volley 2026 continues, several players delivered performances that helped their teams push closer to the quarter-finals and earned them a place in this week’s CEV fantasy team of the week.

Facing PGE Projekt Warszawa away from home, Théo Faure once again showed why he has become one of the key figures for Trentino Itas. In a closely contested match, the opposite delivered when his team needed him most. He finished with 22 points, including 17 attacks and 5 aces. His serving created constant pressure and opened space for Trentino’s offence, earning him the MVP award.

Middle blocker Flavio Cesar Gualberto also played a key role in that victory. He finished with 13 points and added 3 kill blocks, making his presence felt at the net throughout the match. His work in the middle helped Trentino secure a narrow but important win.

Elsewhere in the play-offs, Artur Szalpuk produced a strong performance for Asseco Resovia Rzeszów against Knack Roeselare. The outside hitter finished with 16 points, including 11 attacks, 4 kill blocks, and an ace. His contribution helped Resovia control key moments of the match, as he was named MVP.

At home in Gran Canaria, Miguel Ángel De Amo guided Guaguas Las Palmas to a win over Montpellier HSC VB. The setter added 3 points of his own, including 2 aces, while leading his team’s attack throughout the match. His performance also earned him the MVP award.

Even in defeat, Montpellier’s libero Corentin Phelut stood out. He recorded an impressive 82% reception rate, providing stability in the backcourt and helping Montpellier remain competitive for much of the match.

Another Trentino player who made the team is middle blocker Simon Valentin Torwie. He finished with 10 points, including 5 kill blocks, and played an important role in Trentino’s defensive effort at the net.

Nicolás Bruno of Guaguas Las Palmas completes this week’s team. The outside hitter contributed 14 points from 14 attacks and added a kill block, while also recording a 73% positive reception rate. His balanced performance in both attack and reception played an important part in his team’s success.

As the playoff matches continued, the fantasy leaderboard also began to take shape, reflecting the players who turned their performances on court into strong fantasy returns. Théo Faure led the standings with 74 points after his influential display for Trentino Itas. Close behind was Linus Weber, who collected 71 points for PGE Projekt Warszawa following a strong performance in the playoff round.

Simon Hirsch secured the third spot with 67 points for Montpellier HSC VB, while Matheus Bezerra Souza added 60 points for Guaguas Las Palmas. Completing the top five was Nicolás Bruno, who finished the week with 59 points, also representing Guaguas Las Palmas.
