Team Bio
VakifBank share with Volley BERGAMO of Italy the record for the most titles won in the CEV Champions League – four. They made history for Turkish Volleyball with their very first triumph in 2011 before claiming top honours in 2013, 2017 and 2018 as well. Their consistency at the highest level knows no equal since they have reached at least the semis of the Champions League uninterruptedly since 2013, with silver medals in 2014 and 2016 to go with third-place finishes in 2015 and 2019. After losing in the semis in 2019 and reaching the last four before the outbreak of the pandemic resulted in an abrupt end to the 2020 season, VakifBank are hoping to make history again, since an eventual triumph in Verona would secure them an all-time record fifth Champions League crown.
