Luxembourg, October 29, 2020. The 2nd Round Pool H tournament of the CEV Champions League Volley 2021 Men has reached the final day with Trentino Itas and Lindaren Volley Amriswil facing each other later this evening in the third and final match of the tournament.

The Italians from Trentino Itas go into today's encounter extremely confident after an impressive and convincing display that brought them all the points against Dinamo Moscow just yesterday, while hosts from Lindaren Volley will be looking to at least please a very enthusiastic home crowd after their defeat to Dinamo Moscow on match day 1.

After three interesting Volleyball days, the battle in Pool H of the 2nd Round tournament of the CEV Champions League Volley 2021 Men reached its climax with TRENTINO Itas booking their ticket to the 4TH Round of Europe’s most elite club volleyball competition. On Thursday, they outclassed with straight sets win the home team of Lindaren Volley AMRISWIL. Being the winner of this tournament, TRENTINO will join in the next stage of the competition the teams of Pool E -Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK (RUS), VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN (GER) and ČEZ KARLOVARSKO (CZE).

TRENTINO Itas (ITA) vs Lindaren Volley AMRISWIL (SWI) 3-0 (25-19, 25-22,25-18)

The last day of the tournament in Amriswil, Switzerland was decisive for grabing the ticket to the 4th round of #CLVolleyM. The Italian powerhouse entered the courts as favourites after a fast 3-0 victory on Wednesday over the Russian squad of Dynamo Moscow. The hosts from AMRISWIL instead were determined to give their best and please the home supporters, and even if they couldn’t seize the win, they performed well and breathed down Trentino’s necks’ especially in the second set.

  • Simone GIANNELLI (TRENTINO Itas) became Best Player and Best blocker of the match
  • For Lindaren Volley AMRISWIL Thomas Zass was again the top scorer recording 12 points to his name.
  • The key to TRENTINO’s success were the much better performance on Block and Attack.
  • The good play of the Italians on the serve continued also on Thursday with 5 aces scored.

Angelo Lorenzetti, head coach of TRENTINO: “It was our big target to win this tournament and to know that we are in the Pools of Champions League. Yesterday, my players did a great job against the Russians by beating them the 3-0 and today they did very well, too. We are looking forward now to the next matches and I am really proud of the team.”

Marko Klok, head coach of AMRISWIL: “We had two really great days here in Amriswil. It was a big pleasure to play this tournament and we did some really good actions. However, sometimes we could have been better.”

Björn Höhne, outside spiker of AMRISWIL: “It was really great to play this tournament against such opponents like Dynamo and Trentino with players who are Champions-League-Winners, Worldchampions etc. Some of our players have never played against such big opponents or will never play again against them. It was a great experience and now we are looking forward to play St. Petersburg in CEV Cup.”
