Overview
The all-Italian clash opens the competition in the #CLVolleyW Pool A. However, it's already the fifth #CLVolleyW game for SCANDICCI this season, as they reached the pool phase progressing from the first round - all four games were played at PalaRiadoli and ended with their straight set victory. Recently, the Italian teams faced each other in the national league match in October, then SCANDICCI won 3-1. Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI competes in the CEV Champions League Volley for the third time, while Unet e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO starts their fourth campaign. The Butterflies from Busto Arsizio are the silver medallist from 2015.

Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI win a nail-biting five-setter
The 4th Round of the CEV Champions League Volley - Women continues this week with Pool A competing at the PalaRiadoli in Scandicci. The hosts Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI took on their Italian rival Unet e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO in the opening game of the tournament, which turned out into an epic nail-biting five-setter. Eventually, it was SCANDICCI starting their 3rd #CLVolleyW campaign with victory. In the second matchup today SSC Palmberg SCHWERIN face Developres SkyRes RZESZÓW.
Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI opened the game very well with solid performances of Magdalena Stysiak and Elena Pietrini, who were top scorers in the first part. However, the second set was quite a turnaround. Unet e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO fought back and managed to open this part with a 12-2 lead, to eventually close the set 25-11 in 19 minutes. This was like a cold shower for the hosts, who started the next part much better. They stayed focused keeping a firm grip of their advantage. The fourth set was way more competitive, the hosts managed to jump to 23-20 in the deccisive stage, but BUSTO ARSIZIO once again showed their character on court winning 5 consecutive points. SCANDICCI opened tie-break much better, leading 10-6, but again Unet e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO tied at 10-10. First match point came at 13-14 for the hosts, Unet e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO saved it, but also didn't use their chance. The second match point and winning block from Marina Lubian of SCANDICCI ended the game.
- The game ended after 121 minutes, the shortest set lasted 19 minutes (2nd), while the longest 31 (4th).
- Magdalena Stysiak of SCANDICCI was the best scorer of the match. She tallied 25 points - including 6 aces!
- Alexa Lea GRAY topped the scorers of BUSTO ARSIZIO with 17 points.
- It's the 5th consecutive win in this edition of the #CLVolleyW for Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI, as they reached this stage progressing from the 1st Round (all their games were played at PalaRiadoli.
