The Serbian opposite Jovana Brakocevic-Canzian has received a lot of success in her long career, and with her experience and power, she will definitely be one of the most prominent players of Grupa Azoty Chemik Police this year on #CLVolleyW.

Brakocevic-Canzian started her professional volleyball career in her own country with Postar 064 Belgrade. After that, she joined several clubs worldwide: She went to Italy, China, Japan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Romania, and the last destination Poland. She won numerous national league and cup titles and, of course, individual awards.

Among the teams she joined, VakifBank was the place where she reached the peak of her performance and made the most significant achievements. She became a part of the Turkish powerhouse in the 2012-2013 season and won the CEV Champions League Volley gold medal that year. Apart from this historical success, she was honored as the MVP of Europe’s most prestigious tournament. One year later, she also stood at the top of the FIVB World Club Championship podium, and the MVP of that tournament was no one but her.

Brakocevic-Canzian also played in the Serbian national team for many years and had a lot of achievements. One of the most memorable tournaments for her was the CEV EuroVolley 2011. When Serbia won their first European Championship title, Brakocevic-Canzian led her team with outstanding performances, was selected as the MVP, and raised the cup in front of thousands of Serbian fans. She also won two gold medals in CEV European League and a silver in the Olympic Games 2016.

After a one-year experience in Italy with Igor Gorgonzola Novara, she joined Poland’s most successful club, Grupa Azoty Chemik Police, in 2020. She reached a happy ending in the national league in both seasons she played for Chemik Police and also was respected with the MVP award last year.

In the previous edition of the CEV Champions League Volley, where Grupa Azoty Chemik Police finished in 9th place, Brakocevic-Canzian became the top scorer of her team with 71 points in total. She also set up five blocks and made five aces throughout the tournament.

About one month ago, Brakocevic-Canzian was on the court for the Polish Supercup against another #CLVolleyW participant, Developres Rzeszow. Even though Chemik Police could not reach the top after losing the tie-break, Brakocevic-Canzian was the most productive player on her team with 25 points.

By putting all of her experiences and talent in the same basket, Brakocevic-Canzian now wants to give her best on the court and continue to lead her team in the #CLVolleyW this season. This year will begin for Grupa Azoty Chemik Police on the 7th of December in Pool E, and Brakocevic-Canzian has already shown how ready she is. One thing is clear that it will be a pleasure to watch what she will do in this long and competitive journey.
