"We are in a good moment of the season, not only for the results, but also for the quality of the game that has grown a lot. We are playing well and with the recovery of Sarah Fahr we are now complete and this raises the level and quality of our training and our game accordingly. Now we have to continue like this because our victory in the first match in Monza ist not decisive, we will play everything tomorrow to reach another final, it would be fantastic. "

Daniele Santarelli
Head coach A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO

"We are very focused on our goal, which is to return to the final to defend our trophy won last year, but we know that Monza is a very strong team that will want to play all its chances in game 2 at Palaverde tomorrow. I'm confident, we are playing well and we won their first game at home, but we remember well Monza's recent victory at Palaverde in the Italian championship and we know that tomorrow will be another difficult battle that we have to face playing at the highest level."

Monica De Gennaro
Libero A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO

"It will be a very difficult match. It is our last chance to continue the path in the CEV Champions League. In the first leg Conegliano played a perfect match, which they will try to do again on Thursday. We have to be, on the other hand, more aggressive in serving and concrete in defense. We will have to dare more with courage, aware that it is the last chance we have to reach the final ".

Alessia Gennari
Outside hitter Vero Volley MONZA

"We are facing a very complicated result, because in the first leg we lost 3-0 and therefore to reach the final we must win by three points to play the golden-set. However, we dont' have to think in this way, but we have to be focus one set at a time, trying to propose the match of the first leg with something more in the service and in the attack."

A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO v Vero Volley MONZA

Article

A tough battle was held today on Italian’s ground. On one side were the reigning European Champions from Imoco Volley Conegliano and on the other side Vero Volley Monza who have reached the Quarter-Finals on their debut in the competition. With a 3:0 win in the first match and a 3:1 win in the second match, Imoco Conegliano scored their ticket to the Super-Finals.

As the winners of this match were due to play the winners of the Russian derby between Dinamo Moscow and Dinamo-Ak Bars Kazan, now Imoco Conegliano, the winner of the all-Italian Quarter-Final will enjoy a bye in the Semi-Finals and progress directly to the Super Final.

It was definitely a tough battle today and Vero Volley Monza was all-in as they knew they needed this win in order to still be in the game of passing through to the Super-Finals. But it didn't go according to their plan.

In the first set (25:19), Imoco got in the fast lead with 6-1 and later on with 21-12. They had 17 spikes and Monza knew that this set is lost and that they would need to bite in the second set. Which they definitely did.

The next set just wasn't the one for Imoco (22:25). They've lost a lot of energy and tried to keep it up with Monza but it didn't go according to their plans. With two kill blocks and two aces, the opposite Italian team didn't have much idea as to how to break down Monza.

But they already managed to get back up in the third set (25:16). At one point Imoco had a lead by ten points (23:13) which was the biggest difference in all four sets.

They only needed to win the fourth set in order to get through to the Super-Finals, their fourth CEV Super-Final. This was a very easy job for them since Monza was losing a lot of energy. With 2-5 and later on 10-6 and 22-12 that didn't present a problem for Imoco who already started celebrating at that point.

In the end, it was Imoco who scored the ticket to the Super-Finals with an amazing atmosphere in front of their home crowd. MVP of the match is Miriam Fatime Sylla with 12 spikes and 40 % positive reception.
