    · VK ČEZ Karlovarsko is currently leading the local Czech League and they have lost only one of eighteen games so far.

    · In their last home game in the Champions League the Czech team faced VT Decospan Menen and beat them 3:0, which happened to be Karlovarsko’s first victory in the best international league for top European teams.

    · The Czech footprint can be found in the history of Karlovarsko’s Polish opponents – Petr Zapletal, Jiří Popelka and last but not least the team’s CEO Jakub Novotný who played as an opposite for Kozle.

    · VK ČEZ Karlovarsko still has a hypothetical chance to forward to the knockout stage of the Champions League, yet they are very familiar with the undeniable strength of Kedzierzyn Kozle.

    · Before the start of this Champions League season t he Czech set for themselves the goal to secure the third place in the Pool D, which would move them straight to the CEV Cup quarter-finals.

    · This game has raised a great interest in local fans, so once again we expect a great atmosphere at Hala míčových sportů.

    ČEZ KARLOVARSKO v Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE

    Today  we played agaist Kedzierzyn Kozle, the double champion  and our strategy was clear – to play bravely and fearlessly. From the very first point it was sure that the match was going to be dramatic and gripping.

    We started the first set very succesfully and gained 4 points lead, but at the ending of the match Kozle levelled the score to 22:22 and the fight started. Karlovarsko is getting the first set winning 25:23 and the best scoring player is Estonian spiker Martti Juhkami.

    The second set was the opposite of the first one – the opponent got quite a numerous lead, which was very difficult for us to catch up with. Even if our team narrowed down the score, the second set ended with the score 21:25.

    The third set slipped through our fingers, but we substituted all our weaknesses in the third set with our strengths in the fourth one, in  which we came victoriously.

    The host team started the fifth set with success and got  quite a good  lead 12:8. Slowly, point by point we were pushing and narrowing the score down. Nevertheless, the host team won the tie-break 15:13.In both 4th and 5th sets it was Patrik Lamanec who became a very significant and valuable player for Karlovarsko.

    The match was soaked with fighting spirit on both sides. The atmosphere in the crowded sports hall and the fans were incredible. The best scoring players of the match were Patric Lamanec and Martti Juhkami, both with 15 points.
