Following the debut of the new Champions League Volley season in the women’s competition last week, the time has come for the men to enter the court and we have two matches on the very first day that we expect to be highly entertaining.

Starting off the day and the season, we will go to Pool E and the Burhan Felek Voleybol Salonu in Istanbul where Fenerbahçe HDI Istanbul will be hosting the AS Cannes Dragons from France.

Europe’s premiere club competition is an arena where all the best clubs want to compete, also valid for Fenerbahçe’s head Daniel Castellani, “The Champions League is a platform where the top teams of Europe take place, and I am happy to be here as Fenerbahçe. Our group is tough, but we know that nothing is impossible if we play our own game. I believe that tomorrow, our players will do their best to reveal our own game.”

“It's nice to be playing again in the world's best volleyball league, the Champions League. Today we will face AS Cannes Dragons and we are ready to fight for every ball on the field. We need our fans the most in these tough group matches. Feeling their support always gives us more strength. We are a better team with our fans! Come on Fenerbahçe!”

For the second match of the day, we will be visiting Hala Widowiskowo - Sportowa JASTRZEBIE ZDROJ in Poland, where Jastrzebski Wegiel will host competition newcomers Hebar Pazardzhik from Bulgaria in Pool A.

A team with significant Champions League experience, Jastrzebski will take part in their 10th season in its history. However, they will be hoping for better luck following two troublesome seasons where the pandemic put an end to the competition in one season and severely affected the team before taking part in the two tournaments in another season.

With three reigning Olympic champions from France on its roster, Setter Benjamin Toniutti, Wing-spiker Trevor Clevenot and Opposite Stephen Boyer, Jastrzebski will be confident they can have a good season yet again.
