Grupa Azoty Chemik POLICE and Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA delivered a great Volleyball show on the last day of action in Pool E. The Italians repeated their #CLVolleyW success from this season vs the Polish team, this time outclassing them at 3-1 (in the first match back in November 2020, NOVARA emerged victorious after a tiebreak). With this evening’s victory, the Italians record 6th wins out of 6 matches in Round 4, topping the charts in Pool E, and securing their spot at the Quarterfinals. Chemik POLICE also have a reason to celebrate, as they continue ahead to the next phase of the competition, too.

1-3 (19 - 25, 25 - 22, 18 - 25, 16 - 25)

Pool E

We are glad that we have qualified, of course, but it won't be easy in the next stage. It will be tricky to maintain the same level during the next #CLVolleyW tournament, but I am just happy that we have the opportunity to play, having in mind the whole situation around the world.

• In the beginning of the match, both teams amazed with intense rallies, following each other in the score. Both the players of Chemik POLICE and NOVARA showed good skills in defence, but with the set unfolding the Italians took control of the game. Haleigh Washington and Christina Chirichella were the best for the Italians, while Jovana Brakocevic was contributing the most for Chemik POLICE.
• In the second set, the host team was slightly better on serve, while Washington and her teammates were dominating on block. Chemik POLICE, however, were able to emerge victorious in this part.
• In the next set, NOVARA maintained high level Volleyball on the net (4 blocks) and speeded up on the serve, which was enough to reclaim the lead. In the remainder of the match, the players around Stefano Lavarini pushed a lot on the attack, and congratulated themselves with the eventual victory.
• The Italian side recorded a total of 13 blocks and 7 aces.
• NOVARA’s setter Micha Danielle Hancock amazed with interesting solutions, and was deservedly named MVP of the match. She recorded 4 blocks and 2 aces.
• Haleigh Washington and Caterina Bosetti topped the charts with 16 and 15 points, respectively. For Chemik POLICE, Jovana Brakocevic recorded 13.

Today's match was very tough. I think that we showed a very good level of Volleyball. All of the fans, in front of the screens, could enjoy a lot this game. Now, we are looking forward to the next phase. Every team that we might face, is a strong one, so we need to prepare very well. It is great to be among the 8 best team in the continent!

On Thursday, Dinamo- Ak Bars KAZAN finished their 2021 #CLVolleyW journey with a 3-1 victory over the underdogs in Pool E, the team of VK UP OLOMOUC. The players coached by Rishat Gilyazutdinov outperformed their opponents with excellent game on block, and being better on attack. Not satisfied with leaving the competition at this stage, the Russian players go back home, willing to improve for the next season. The Czech, on the other hand, finish in Pool E on the last place, with no victories recorded.

Dinamo-Ak Bars KAZAN vs VK UP OLOMOUC

3-1 (25 - 18, 22 - 25, 25 - 21, 25 - 15)

Pool E

Winning today is fine, but the pain of not continuing ahead is still here. This year, we never showed our real game in #CLVolleyW, what we are capable of. Here, in Police we played a little bit better compared to the first tournament in Novara. We are definitely happy with the results and we need to keep on working and iproving

Samanta Fabris
Player, Dinamo-Ak Bars Kazan

• Dinamo started without their star players Samanta Fabris and Samantha Bricio. The Russian side, however, performed better in the first set, and with 6 successful blocks in this part, opened in their favour.
• VK UP OLOMOUC kept the intrigue in the match alive, tying the score in the second set that lasted 26 minutes. Priscilla Maria Mosegui Schlegel and her teammates were better on attack, making it difficult for Dinamo’s defence.
• In the remainder of the match, the Russian team pushed on the attack and maintained the good level of play on block.
• Dinamo-Ak Bars KAZAN finished with 20 blocks and 50% efficiency in attack.
• Tatiana Kadochinka was storming out on the court, recording 31 points (25 winning spikes).
