- Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO and VakifBank ISTANBUL meet for the fourth time in the Champions League, and for the third time in the final after 2016/17 and 2020/21.
- VakifBank ISTANBUL defeated the Italians, known as Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO at the time, 3-0 in the final in Treviso on 23 April 2017. Zhu Ting won a match-high 22 points for the Turkish side led by coach Giovanni Guidetti.
- Last year, A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO won the Champions League for the first time by defeating Guidetti's VakifBank ISTANBUL 3-2 in the final in Verona on 1 May 2021. Daniele Santarelli's team was trailing 1-2 in sets before winning the final two sets. Paola Ogechi Egonu (41) and Isabelle Haak (33) finished as their team's top scorers in that final.
- The team's only other Champions League meeting came in the semi-finals in Bucharest on 5 May 2018. Guidetti's VakifBank ISTANBUL defeated Santarelli's Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO in five sets to reach the final in which the Turkish side beat CSM Volei Alba BLAJ. Samanta Fabris (28) and Zhu Ting (24) both reached 20+ points in that match.
- This is also a repeat of the 2021 FIVB Club World Championship final. Guidetti's VakifBank ISTANBUL claimed a record-extending fourth title in the competition after a 3-2 win over the Italians led by Santarelli in the final in Ankara on 19 December 2021. Paola Ogechi Egonu (35) and Isabelle Haak (28) scored the most points for their club.
- In the 2019 FIVB Club World Championship, Santarelli's Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO beat Guidetti's VakifBank ISTANBUL 3-2 in the semi-finals in Shaoxing on 7 December 2019, courtesy of 38 points by Egonu. The Italians ended up winning their first title in the competition after a 3-1 win over Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL in the final.
- VakifBank ISTANBUL (5) and A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO (2) have won seven of the last eight Champions League/Club World Championship titles. The exception came in the 2018/19 Champions League, when Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA defeated Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO 3-1 in the final.

- A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO play the Champions League final for a fourth time. The Italians won the title in 2020/21 (3-2 vs VakifBank ISTANBUL), but finished runners-up in 2016/17 (0-3 vs VakifBank ISTANBUL) and 2018/19 (1-3 vs Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA).
- A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO can become the fourth team to win back-to-back Champions League titles, after RC CANNES (2001/02, 2002/03), Volley BERGAMO (2008/09, 2009/10) and VakifBank ISTANBUL (2016/17, 2017/18).
- A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO are on a 26-match winning streak in the Champions League, since a 1-3 loss versus Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA in the 2018/19 final on 18 May 2019. Their current winning run includes an awarded 3-0 win against Fatum NYIREGYHAZA this season.
- A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO dropped only one set this Champions League season, in a 3-1 home win over Vero Volley MONZA in the quarter-finals. Apart from their awarded win versus Fatum NYIREGYHAZA, the Italians also received two walkovers in the semi-finals.
- Paola Ogechi Egonu (100) is the club's top scorer in this season's Champions League. She only participated in four matches: in both group matches against Grupa Azoty Chemik POLICE (19 points away, 24 at home), and in the quarter-final matches against Vero Volley MONZA (27 away, 30 at home).
- Egonu (7.69) has the best points per set average of all players in this Champions League season.
- Giulia Gennari (62.75%, 4 matches) and Joanna Wolosz (56.55%, 5 matches) are among the best setters in the Champions League this season.
VakifBank ISTANBUL
- VakifBank ISTANBUL have reached the Champions League final for a record-extending eighth time, all under Giovanni Guidetti. No other team has played the final more than five times.
- VakifBank ISTANBUL are hoping to win the Champions League a record fifth time, surpassing Volley BERGAMO on four titles. The Turkish side claimed the title in 2010/11, 2012/13, 2016/17 and 2017/18.
- VakifBank ISTANBUL are already guaranteed to record their 10th top-three finish in the Champions League, extending the record. These podiums came in the last 11 completed editions (including 2021/22) of the Champions League (the later stages of the 2019/20 season were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic), with the only exception a fifth place in 2011/12.
- In the semi-finals, the Turkish side needed a golden set (15-11) to win their match-up against Fenerbahçe Opet ISTANBUL. Both Istanbul-based teams had won their home match: 3-1 by VakifBank ISTANBUL and 3-0 by Fenerbahçe Opet ISTANBUL.
- Isabelle Haak (195) is the competition's leading points scorer this Champions League season. In the 2020/21 Champions League, Haak (236) finished as competition top scorer.
- Gabriela Braga Guimaraes (148) and Michelle Bartsch-Hackley (114) are respectively fourth and seventh on this season's best scorer list.
- Chiaka Ogbogu has won 23 points from stuff blocks in this season's Champions League, ranking her in third place behind SC Prometey DNIPRO's Nasya Dimitrova (35) and Diana Meliushkyna (25).
- Isabelle Haak (13) has claimed fourth-most aces this Champions League season, after Fenerbahçe Opet ISTANBUL's Arina Fedorovtseva (24), SC Prometey DNIPRO's Heidy Casanova Alvarez (15) and DRESDNER SC's Jennifer Janiska (14).

The Stožice Arena, which opened the 10th of August 2010, is the biggest multipurpose arena in Slovenia with the full capacity of 12,480 visitors. It is a home to basketball team KK Olimpija Ljubljana, volleyball team ACH Volley Ljubljana and handball team RK Krim Ljubljana, and several national teams, among them the volleyball national teams. VakifBank ISTANBUL left no chance to Conegliano, and become the Reigning Champion

The first set seemed to be slightly in a vantage for VakifBank, that scored its first point. Gabi suddenly tried to show her power, but she was suddenly blocked by a good play in reception by Imoco.
Paola Egonu tries her best, but VakifBank ran away (3-0) and then Conegliano came back (3-4). The match showed to be immediately spectacular, with a big initial rally after a spectacular save by Isabelle Haak, who didn’t want let the opponents pass.
Egonu didn’t forgive the Turkish attacks and equalizes the points 4-4. At 4-5 Gabi was blocked and then the points were again equalized (5-5)
Egonu well served by Monica De Gennaro scored the 6-5, and then the Italian team continued to lead by one point (8-7 for Conegliano)
Bu then Haak came back and the two teams delivered again a hard battle.
Folie starting to show her power and scored her first point, while Bartsch produced an incredible ace that brought the point to 13-12. Egonu with a super spike took her team two points in advantage, Gabi and Ogbogu couldn’t nothing against her. A mistake from Haak seemed to give a big advantage to the Italian team (16-14). A contested video challenge heated the atmosphere as the point went to VakifBank.
Plummer took her revenge, but then suddenly Gabi again showed to the opponent who was the boss. Incredible save by Gabi against Egonu, but she couldn’t nothing against the Italian panther, who scored again.
Haak was the equalizer of the game (20-20), then a net for Bartsch while on serving gave a point to the opponents (21-20)
Gabi finished Haak’s job with a super spike (21-21). Plummer struggled during the match with forced mistakes and continued sending the ball out (21-22).
Second time out was called by coach Guidetti. Senoglu replaced Boz, and scored the 21-22 for VakifBank. Egonu confused the opponents scoring for her team, then Plummer’s mistakes brought the Turkish team close to the victory (21-24). A challenge was called on this crucial point, but the there was no touch and the point went to VakifBank. Egonu gave some hopes to her team, but then Gabi ended it out by scoring the set point.
In the second set, Plummer seemed to have found her good shape, and scored the first point for her team. De Gennaro served an incredible ball to Egonu, who eventually scored.
Haak spiked on Plummer and defeated her, as the Italian panther couldn’t avoid to let their opponent overcome them (3-5). Egonu put the Turkish defence in big trouble (5-6), but Gabi brought her team toward an incredible 9-6.
Still cat-and mouse game (15-16) until Ogbogu brought her team one point in advance (16-17). A big rally was played, and Haak kept the leadership of her team (19-17). A super spike by Isabelle Haak put the opponents in trouble again (17-20). Paola Egonu fought back (18-20), but the even the second set was closed by the Turkish powerhouse with 4 points of difference (21-25).
The third set was again head-to-head, then a challenge on a block touch and Senoglu achieved to balance the score again (19-19), Egonu and Gabi started to compete against each other (20-20 for Egonu, 21-21 Gabi). Sylla got her revenge with satisfaction (22-21), then Egonu (23-21), and Ogbogu (22-23) tried to keep their team moreale high.
Set point for Conegliano 24-22, but VakifBank was still close to the opponents 23-24 and Egonu eventually closed it.
The fourth started pretty suddenly with another challenge, and the point went to VakifBank (9-8)
Sylla scored the double digit (10-8). Her counterpart Isabelle Haak brought her team close to the double digit again, and eventually the Turkish team came back (10-10). A good connection between Wolosz and Sylla brought Conegliano one point in advantage, and after a challenge touch the point went to Conegliano (11-11), then Paola Egonu scored (12-12).
Haak sent the ball out (15-16) and the game restarted again.
De Gennaro finished at the limits of the court to save the ball, but it was not enough to prevent VakifBank to quickly take the lead one more time (18-21). Gabi showed again who commanded (23-18).
Folie rapidly changed the situation (20-23) and it evolved into the road for the Super Finals point. Egonu didn’t let Gabi pass (21-24), showing no mercy with a block.
At the end, VakifBank was the new reigning champion thanks again to an impressive Gabi, who scored the definitive point.
