Volero LE CANNET v CS Volei Alba BLAJ
A very combative set in the hall of La Palestre in Le Cannet. The Cannetanes managed a remarkable comeback in the first set. Then led 12 - 16 then 16-21, they won the set 25 -23. Facing a team of Alba Blaj well decided to show the best of it even on this match.
Volero conceded the two sets that followed 18-25 and 23 - 25. The teammates of the captain Eva Yaneva took the upper hand at the end of the 4th set, initially outdone 12 - 16, they won 25-21. To conclude on a tie break where the Volero volleyball players showed the best and kept the lead.
A word from the great Vita Akimova, elected MVP of this match with 43 points. “It was our first match in the Champions League and we were very excited, it was great and the team worked as one mechanism.”
Milan Grsic"At several moments they were very big and showed character, it is not easy and many of them played their first game in the Champions League. But today they showed very good skills for beginners. “We have the Ukrainian team coming up very soon, we don’t know what the match will be like,- we are looking for videos on them to establish the best techniques.”
