If you are looking for an all-around player in the #CLVolleyM #SuperFinals, TRENTINO’s leader, Nimir Abdel-Aziz, is your person. In his first season with the team, Nimir was top performing in all his 45 matches across the different competitions, recording 820 points. Now, fans are looking forward to what he has in store for May 1, when TRENTINO will lock horns for the #CLVolleyM trophy with the Polish Powerhouse of Grupa Azoty Zaksa KĘDZIERZYN KOŹLE. On the road to the Gold medal, the unstoppable Nimir will be one of the key players in the squad coached by Angelo Lorenzetti, and Kamil Semeniuk&co should be wary of “the setter who wanted to become an opposite”.

Nimir's emotions after a successful action

Abdel-Aziz (February 5, 1992, S. Gravenhage, NED) went Pro in 2009/2010, playing for the local Dynamo Apeldoorn. Apart from a successful career on a club level in teams in Italy, Turkey and Poland, Nimir is also one of the stars of the Dutch national team, where he has played 210 matches. His biggest success there is the Golden medal from the European League 2012, where he was named Best Server and Best Setter.

Nimir is a player that every coach wishes to have on their team. In the CEV Champions League Volley 2021 - Men, Nimir has been brilliant and made the difference in key moments. Top Scorer of #CLVolleyM (188 points to his name, an average of 4.37 per set), he became an enigma for Trentino’s international opponents.
On the road to the #SuperFinals, one of Trentino’s main weapons was the strong performance on the serving line, where Nimir was once again shining. Best Server with 36 aces (13 matches, an average of 0.84 per set), he left far behind the second one in the chart, Wilfredo Leon of Sir Sicoma Monini PERUGIA with his 18 aces (seven matches, 0,75 average per set).
Nimir even took again the role of setter back in December when playmakers Simone Giannelli and Lorenzo Sperotto were quarantined. To no surprise, he did a great job and his Trentino topped the charts in the first robin-round tournament in Pool E with three wins in a row.

The #SuperFinals in Verona will be a special moment for Nimir, having in mind that on the other side of the net will be ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, where he played for a season back in 2014/2015.
Abdel-Aziz is, for sure, “hungry” for a gold medal from the #CLVolleyM, as his best achievement so far in Europe’s elite competition is the second place with Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo in 2012/2013.
Trentino’s star loves his family and says he would dedicate an important victory to his mother. What better chance to do so than winning on May 1?
