Less than a week to the #SuperFinalsVerona,  the Panthers from A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano are giving it their best in the training sessions, getting ready for the Battle of the Year in Europe’s elite competition. On May 1, in what will be a title-deciding match, the reigning club world champions will meet on the field the team of VakifBank Istanbul. Days after winning the Italian Scudetto, Miriam Sylla and her teammates remain focused on the main goal of the upcoming week - bringing home the #CLVolleyW Gold. The 26-year-old Sylla, who joined Conegliano in 2018 after several seasons in Foppapedretti Bergamo, is always one of the main protagonists on the court, and fans are expecting her to show her full potential next Saturday.

Sylla, who has various achievements with the Italian national team (Silver medals from the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix and 2018 FIVB World Women’s Championship, and Bronze from the 2019 Women’s European Volleyball Championship), is wishing for a greater #CLVolleyW success, and will enter motivated the battle with VakifBank. The upcoming match will be her second #CLVolleyW final, as in 2019 the Panthers lost to Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA but took a ‘sweet’ revenge this year, outclassing them in the semi-finals. Playing a second Champions League final, Miriam considers herself a lucky girl. “I feel lucky because we have a second chance. I hope we will win this time vs VakifBank, a different opponent than the one that we met two years ago"

"Of course, Vakif are a very solid team, but I hope that we will be able to find the right key to bring home the trophy that we have been longing for for a long time.”

With the Super Finals in Verona getting closer, the excitement among the fans is also growing. The Panthers remain calm and the atmosphere in the team is good, Sylla says. “We have a nice team spirit, and we are determined to do well, and to show our best”. As per the match itself, Miriam and her teammates are sure it will be an epic battle to remember. “We expect a hard-fought final, and we are eager to redeem ourselves.”

On a personal level, Miriam is focused on showing her skills, and hopes that all the work done in the trainings will pay off. “I expect a lot from myself, I want to be present both mentally and physically. I do hope that all the work that I have done during these past years will help the team to achieve the dream.”

Sylla sends a special message to all the #CLVolleyW fans inviting them to tune in online on May 1 and follow the Volleyball show in Verona.

“I am sure that we are going to put up a great fight, and it will be an amazing show. It is going to be ‘The Clash of the Titans’, so if you are a Volleyball fan, you will miss a lot if you don’t follow it!”
