Dinamo-Ak Bars Kazan looking for first win of the new CLVolleyW season
News
The Russian side from Kazan will be hosting Beziers Volley today at the Saint Petersburg Arena in their second match of Pool D, following a disappointing defeat in five sets suffered in the first round against Fenerbahçe Opet ISTANBUL.
Despite being in their ninth season in the CEV Champions League Volley, Dinamo has never faced Beziers, now in their third season, nor have they faced any team from France until now. On the other side, in the 2013/14 season, Beziers Volley faced the Russian Omichka OMSK team and lost 0:3 twice.
Following a good start and a convincing win in their first match against Maritza Plovdiv, Beziers Volley leads the pool, while Dinamo sits in 3rd position with a point won in Istanbul following the 5-set thriller.
In their domestic leagues, Dinamo is doing much better than Beziers, occupying the second position in the Russian League as opposed to the French side being 8th.
Sergey SikachevWe know that Beziers Volley is now the 8th in the French Championship. On the other hand, however, they have recently defeated a second-place team, so they should be taken seriously. Actually, any European team can cause trouble. Just because they play a different volleyball: skilled, not smashmouth, which we have got used to in Russia”.
