The Russian Dinamo-Ak Bars Kazan recorded their first victory in Round 4, after outclassing at 3-1 the team of Beziers Volley. The hosts counted on the guidance of their head coach Rishat Gilyazutdinov who missed some games at the helm of his team due to an illness. The French, on the other hand, were in a great mood, after a series of victories.
After claiming a 3-0 win at the beginning of Round 4 of CLVolleyW, the French Beziers Volley started very well in the match against the Russian powerhouse of Dinamo-Ak Bars KAZAN. Taking the lead right after the first referee whistle, the guests opened in their favour, showing better performance on attack (15 winning spikes), and scored more on their opponents’ errors. With the second set unfolding, the home side improved their efficiency on attack, and with some blocks in the key moments, tied the set-score. Tatiana Kadochkina towards the end of the set was accurate and effective for her team. Empowered on the winning spikes (19) in the third set, Dinamo claimed the leadership position, although there was still room for improvement in regard to the unforced errors (10). A close call highlighted the beginning of the fourth set, but Dinamo’s players managed to show their real potential, eventually claiming their first victory in Pool D.
Angelina Lazarenko, with 8 points (four kill blocks) and 80% excellence in attack, was named MVP of the match. The Croatian star Samanta Fabris topped the charts as best scorer with 22 points to her name.
Angelina Lazarenko“At first, we were searching for our rhythm. This is why the begining of the match was hard for us, but we managed to concentrate and claimed the victory. We managed to turn things around thanks to improved performance on the block and in attack.”
Angela Leyva“The first set was a great one. We served really well. After that, we were digging a lot, of course. We were playing transitions at a great level. In the second set we missed our opportunities due to some little mistakes. We know that Dinamo is a great team with world-class players, but we played best”
