There is no moment to dwell on what happened in the pool phase as no less than six teams and their fans are getting ready for next week’s home matches of the playoff phase. In the new system, introduced starting this season, the five pool winners qualify directly into the quarterfinals, while the second best teams and the best third ranked team will be battling it out for one of the remaining three places left for the quarterfinals.

With this new system, the bracket is now set all the way until the SuperFinals, giving us quite the insight on what the road ahead looks like for the teams still left to compete.

Thus, the three Italian teams in the competition have all qualified directly into the quarterfinals, however only one of them already knows who they will be facing. In the only quarterfinal matchup confirmed, one of this season’s revelations, Allianz MTV Stuttgart, lead on the court by the fantastic Krystal Rivers, will be going up against Novara, following their win against Vakifbank in the last match of the pool phase.

The teams from Istanbul, Vakifbank and Fenerbahce will both face Polish opposition in the playoff, with the Italians from Vero Volley and Imoco Volley respectively waiting to find out who their opponents will be from these matchups.

Last but not least, the only Turkish team qualified directly into the quarterfinals, Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul will be facing the winner of the matchup between another revelation from the pool phase, Volero Le Cannet from France and Developres Rzeszow from Poland.
