The country with the highest number of teams in the top eight teams is Italy. Cucine Lube Civitanova, Trentino Itas and Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia had already qualified to the quarterfinals as winners of their pools, however only Civitanova knw that their opponent will be Halkbank Ankara, the only remaining Turkish team, winner of its respective pool.

As we found out last night, Trentino Itas and Grupa Azoty Kędzierzyn Koźle will go head to head yet again, in what is not only a rematch of the last two editions of the SuperFinals, but also of their earlier matchup from this season in the pool phase.

The third Italian team, Perugia will face the Germans from Berlin Recycling Volleys, winners of a match played under special circumstances against Ziraat Bank Ankara. The Berliners are having a great season however and will be highly motivated going against one of the main favorites at winning the trophy.

The final quarterfinals matchup sees the second German team, VfB Friedrichshafen who overcame Tours VB in the playoff, having to face the second Polish team remaining in the top eight, Jastrzebski Wegiel.

Not having any matchups with teams from the same country means that the final four can be as eclectic as it could be or it could prove out to be a monopoly of the Italian teams. We will find out in just a few weeks!
