The Romanian champions, C.S. Arcada Galati, a long-standing presence in the early rounds of the CEV Champions League Volley, managed an important win away from home in their Round 2 clash against neighboring Bulgarian team, Hebar Pazardzhik, without dropping a set.

Better, on the night in almost all statistical aspects of the game, Galati did well to remain calm in front of an experience, tough opponent and a very lively crowd. A good team effort, with several shinning performances such as Oskar Madsen’s in attack or Vasile Talpa and Akhrorjon Sobirov’s at the net, each ending the night with 3 blocks to their name.

However, despite a bad result on home court, Hebar is well equipped to turn things around and push this matchup into a Golden Set. A match to look forward to next week.

As we get closer to the decisive matches for the highly coveted two remaining spots in the Pool Phase of the competition, the higher the tensions on the courts where the preliminary rounds matches are taking place. Following this week’s home matches, two teams seem to have gotten a huge advantage going into the return leg, with Sport Lisboa e Benfica and C.S. Arcada Galati managing convincing wins away from home.

The remaining matchups remain seemingly more open, both Mladost Zagreb and Ford Levoranta Sastamala expected to push more on their home courts. However, having come from the first preliminary round and now winning their first matches of this round, Lindaren Volley and SK Zadruga will be up for the challenge in just a week from now.

All matches are available live and on-demand on CEV’s EuroVolley.TV.
