Valsa Group Modena earns a home win in #CEVCupM semifinals

On Wednesday night, Volleyball fans could also enjoy the second semifinal clash in the CEV Volleyball Cup 2023 - Men. Valsa Group Modena defeated PGE Skra Bełchatów 3-1 in Palapanini Modena and is one step closer to the final. The away game is scheduled on March 15 in Bełchatów.

The clash between Valsa Group Modena and PGE Skra Bełchatów was a tough battle. The club from Italy struggled in receptions at the beginning of the match, but Adis Lagumdzija and Tommaso Rinaldi were the players who made a difference in the first set, scoring 5 and 4 points, respectively.

Skra was eager to fight even more in the second part. Almost flawless game (only 4 own errors) and solid performance from Filippo Lanza (5 points and 57% in attack) and Aleksandar Atansijevic (4 points) helped the club from Poland to tie the result on the scoreboard.

It was a cold shower for Monza, who immediately improved their game. Putting a lot of pressure on their opponents with serve  - 4 aces and only 5% of positive receptions on the side of Skra (!) and block (4 stuffs), they were out of the range. Rinaldi contributed with 6 points, once Giovanni Sanguinetti served 3 aces.

The fourth set was very equal. Both teams fought hard for every ball, achieving similar digits in all components. Therefore, points from opponents' errors were crucial here (8-3). Rinaldi showed his full potential, killing 6 out of 6 spikes!

Rinaldi was the best scorer of the match with 22 points, including 18 kills (69% of success in attack), 3 blocks, one ace and 42% positive receptions.
