The intense playoff concluded last night, providing the final three teams of the quarterfinals lineup, Fenerbahce and Developres Rzeszów getting the necessary wins, which saw them join Vakifbank in Europe’s elite eight club.

Europe's Elite Eight

With three teams each in the quarterfinals, Türkiye and Italy are the dominant countries in the competition. This “battle” will offer us two of the four matchups from this round, with the potential of yet another repeat encounter of last two seasons’ SuperFinals, Vakifbank Istanbul vs A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano in the semifinals, if they first manage to overcome the challenge of Vero Volley Milano and Fenerbahce Istanbul.

The only countries outside of the volleyball giants mentioned previously, still represented in the quarterfinals are Germany and Poland. Allianz MTV Stuttgart had an incredible campaign so far, securing the top spot in the most competitive pool and will be a very tough opponent for Italy’s Igor Gorgonzola Novara.

Developres Rzeszów managed to overcome the huge deficit of a straight sets loss yesterday evening against French side Volero Le Cannet, winning the matchup in a fantastic Golden Set. They will now face Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul, another Turkish team that seems to be firing on all cylinders this season and will now be boosted by the news of SuperStar Player, Tijana Boskovic’s contract extension.

The Quarterfinals are only two weeks away and will be LIVE on CEV’s EuroVolley.TV.
