On the women’s side of the competition, both last year’s SuperFinalists are finding themselves having to overcome this hurdle if they are to be part of Europe’s top eight clubs. VakifBank Istanbul, the most successful team in the history of the competition, will travel to Poland for the first leg against Poland’s PGE Rysice Rzeszow, while Eczacibasi will travel to Romania to meet the Ukrainians from SC Prometey Dnipro on neutral court.

The third matchup of the round is an all-German one between Stuttgart and Potsdam, bringing the rivalry between these two to the Champions League Volley stage. Germany is guaranteed to have a team in the quarterfinals.

On the men’s side, three-time reigning champions Zaksa will have to overcome adversity from HalkBank Ankara if they are to continue their road to an incredible fourth consecutive title. Both teams would be disappointed to be in this position, and even more disappointed if they were to be eliminated at this stage of the competition.

Berlin Recycling Volleys will host Tours VB from France in the first leg in what is expected to be a very balanced match, given their pool phase performances. Same for the last matchup of the men’s competition, with Guagas Las Palmas from Spain and VK Lvl Praha from Czechia trying to take advantage of an amazing opportunity to qualify among Europe’s elite eight.
