Pool B: Maritza Plovdiv (BUL) vs Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul (TUR)
The final day of Leg 2 of the 4th Round began with a showdown between these two teams. The Turkish team had already secured one victory in the group stage, while the Bulgarian side had lost their first match. Special guests came to support the Bulgarian team in their game against Eczacibasi. The recently elected mayor of Plovdiv, Kostadin Dimitrov, was among the spectators at the Kolodruma. However, the Bulgarian team couldn't withstand the Turkish opponents. In the first two sets, the visitors didn't allow Maritza to score more than 16 points. The real battle began only in the 3rd set when the Bulgarian volleyball players fought hard for each point. They managed to level the score with their opponents and took the lead towards the end of the set. Viktoria KOEVA showed a strong attacking performance, scoring 7 points at that moment. The third set finally offered some even competition between the two teams, but it only lasted until 18-18. After that, Eczacibasi scored six in a row, with Voronkova serving for the match point. Balaidin successfully spiked for the 25-20 win.
MVP of the game Tijana Boskovic.
Final score: 0:3 (13:25, 16:25, 20:25)
Pool D: Asterix Avo BEVEREN (BEL) vs PGE Rysice RZESZÓW (POL)
Unlike the Belgian team, the Polish team approached this encounter with one victory. The beginning of their match was challenging for both teams. The Polish team played slightly better in attack and managed to secure two points on serve, allowing them to take the lead in the score and win the first set. However, the following segment of the game unfolded in the opposite way. The Belgian team recorded a total of 6 aces, 5 of which were scored by Iris Vos. In a very tense confrontation towards the end, the Belgian team ultimately couldn't win the second set. In the third set, they rectified their mistakes and, in an equally intense battle, clinched the set victory. By the final stretch of the game, their strength dwindled, and PGE Rysice convincingly overpowered their opponents, not allowing them to even reach 15 points.
Final score: 1:3 (19:25, 24:25, 25:22, 14:25)
