CEV Champions League Volley 2024 | Men
The biggest clubs in Europe will be once again holding their breath in anticipation of the results of the Drawing of Lots for the upcoming season of the world’s biggest club competition, the CEV Champions League Volley.
In the men’s competition, CEV have confirmed that 20 teams will enter the 4thround of the European premium competition, with 18 teams having fixed places, while the other two spots are reserved for the winners of the 3rd round of the competition.
Three teams from Italy, Poland and Germany respectively will be represented in the 4th round, with the champions of these leagues, Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia, Jastrzębski Węgiel and Berlin Recycling Volleys headlining the Cup 1 for the Drawing of Lots.
In Cup 1, the runners-up in the Italian and Polish leagues, Vero Volley Monza and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will be also represented. However, that does not mean that they cannot face opposition from the other powerful leagues, because these countries are also represented in Cup 2.
Allianz Milano, which will make their debut in the European premium competition and Poland’s Projekt Warszawa, which return after featuring last time in the 2021/22 season, make the first spots in Cup 2, while two German sides, Helios Grizzlys Giesen and SVG Lüneburg, are also in this Cup, completed by Turkish powerhouse Halkbank Ankara.
In Cup 3, two Belgian sides - Knack Roeselare and Greenyard Maaseik, and two French sides - Saint-Nazaire VB Atlantique, Chaumont VB 52 – are present, as well as another Turkish side, Fenerbahçe Medicana Istanbul, also making their comeback for the first time since the 2021/22 season.
Last, but not least, in Cup 4, Bulgarian champions Levski Sofia, Czech side Jihostroj České Budějovice and ACH Volley Ljubljana, from Slovenia, are the three teams which have already qualified, with the other two being known after the completion of the 3th round of the CEV Champions League Men.
The Drawing of Lots will take place on 16 July in Luxembourg, the home of the CEV and European Volleyball and can be followed on the official CEV YouTube channel.
