On Tuesday night the third leg of the CEV Champions League Volley 2024 - Women started with Magdalena Stysiak's show in her homeland. Powerful Poland's opposite led Fenerbahce Opet Istanbul to convincing victory over her former club Grot Budowlani Łódź, who tried their best against Turkish powerhouse.

Grot Budowlani Łódź vs Fenerbahce Opet Istanbul 0-3 (24-26, 18-25, 19-25)

The Champions League game between Budowlani Łódź and Fenerbahce Opet Istanbul was an opportunity for Poland's hero Magdalena Stysiak and head coach of Poland's national team Stefano Lavarini to return to Łódź, where in September their team won the highly-anticipated ticket to Paris 2024. Fenerbahce came to Poland in great mood, as only a few days ago they won Istanbul's derby against VakifBank and were motivated to extend their winning streak in the Champions League. However, the home team was eager to show their teeth, setting the bar high in the opening set. From 7-7, Grot Budowlani Łódź sparked by Ewelina Wilińska, who served an ace, ran away with the score to 11-7 and kept a slight advantage until 19-19. Despite a fierce fight, Fenerbahce showed no mercy and turned the set into their favour after block stuffs from Magdalena Stysiak and Eda Erdem Dundar, closing it 26-24.

The second set was completely under control of the team around coach Stefano Lavarini. The captain Eda Erdem was a leader of the team, scoring 6 points and recording 100% success in attack! The third - and as it later turned the last - set was also dominated by Fenerbahce, even if coach Lavarini decided to made some changes in his line up. Grot Budowlani Łódz tried to benefit from this and a few times were only a step from equaling the score. The Turkish powerhouse could count on brilliant performance of Asli Kalac (7 points in 3rd set, including 4 block stuffs!) and Magdalena Stysiak (8 points). Eventually, Fenerbahce sealed a straight-set victory after Natalia Lijewska's spiking in out.

Magdalena Stysiak who could count on super loud support from the stands was named the MVP, having 14 points to her name, including 11 attacks (52% success), 2 blocks and 1 ace. Kinga Różyńska was a leader of Budowlani Łódź with 11 points (4 blocks and 67% success in attack).
