CEV Champions League Volley 2024 | Men
No less than 14 teams were in action in the Qualifying Round I of the CEV Champions League Volley 2024 – Men, across the 4 Pools taking place last week. Eight of these teams have managed to book their seats into the second round and keep their hopes of making it into the main stage of the competition, Round 4.
From Pool I, the two teams going through into the next round are the host team, Neftohimik Burgas from Bulgaria (Won/Lost 2-1) and Budva Budva from Montenegro (Won/Lost 2-1), with Fino Kaposvar from Hungary and OK Strumica from North Macedonia being eliminated from the competition.
Pool II, same as Pool IV was made up of only three teams, making the stakes of each match be that much higher. Olympiacos Piraeus (Won/Lost 2-0) and Partizan Belgrade (Won/Lost 1-1) are the two teams from Pool II that made it through, while from Pool IV, Guagas Las Palmas (Won/Lost 2-0) and C.S. Arcada Galati (Won/Lost 1-1) march on.
From Pool III, Ukraines’s SC “Prometey” Dnipro (Won/Lost 3-0) and Austria’s Hypo Tirol Innsbruck (Won/Lost 2-1) go hand in hand into Round 2, pushing out Finland’s Ford Levoranta Sastamala and The Netherlands’ Draisma Dynamo Apeldoorn.
One more qualifying round remains and this is how the two Pools have shaped up:
Pool V: Guagas LAS PALMAS (ESP); Budva BUDVA (MNE); Partizan BEOGRAD (SRB); Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK (AUT)
Pool VI: Olympiacos PIRAEUS (GRE); SC "Prometey" DNIPRO (UKR); Neftohimik BURGAS (BUL); C.S. ARCADA GALATI (ROU)
The winners of each Pool, together with the best team from the two teams in second place with oin the elite of European Volleyball in the Round 4 of the CEV Champions League Volley 2024 Men.
