At the start of the match between Civitanova and Trentino, the first finalist of this season's Champions League had already been determined - Jastrezebski Wegiel. In the first match of the Italian semifinal, Trentino secured victory with a score of 3-1. The return match took place at Eurosuole Forum CIVITANOVA MARCHE. To advance to the final, Trentino needed to win 2 sets. As a reminder, in the previous season, both Italian teams reached the quarterfinals stage but stopped there.

In the first set, Lavia led in the attack and had a lead of 5 points and 1 ace by the middle of the set. Trentino clearly aimed to win their 2 sets as quickly as possible. However, Civitanova made a serious comeback and came close to their opponents towards the end of the set and even took the lead. Nikolov showcased the full power of his attack in the final moments of the set, ultimately helping his team win the first set with an incredible save.

In the second set, Trentino started with a 5-0 lead, fueled by anger. This time, Civitanova found themselves playing catch-up again, but they couldn't make as impressive of a comeback as in the previous set. Trentino won the set, proving to be better than their opponents in winner attacks -14, and blocks - 3.

In the third set, Civitanova once again played catch-up, but it didn't bring them luck as Trentino approached the end with 5 set points. It was almost impossible to make a comeback from such a margin, thus the guests won the third set and advanced to the Superfinal. Alessandro MICHIELETTO was the most productive player of this set, scoring 5 points with a 71% attack success rate. Trentino celebrated their final berth right on the court, but the teams still had to finish the match.
