Over the last weeks, since the teams participating in the Final Four were known, fans all over the world were able to vote in the All-Star team polls for the CEV Champions League Men and tens of thousands of them have taken the opportunity to support their favourite players.

Eight players were nominated for each position – one setter, one opposite, one libero and two outside hitters and two middle blockers, as well as one coach – with the fans deciding the winner in each category with their votes, being able to vote for three players in each category.

The best opposite throughout the season was Jake Hanes. The Berlin Recycling Volleys American star received 9.221 votes, with a lead over 616 votes over Halkbank’s Marek Sotola and nearly 2.000 votes ahead of Luneburg’s Xander Wolf Ketrzynski.

The two outside hitters were Halkbank’s Dick Kooy (8.155 votes) and Knack Roeselare’s Seppe Rotty (7.264 votes), with a clear margin ahead of John Gordon Perrin (6.712 votes) and Tomasz Fornal (6.314 votes).

Two players were also selected as the top two middle blockers of the season and they were Jastrzębski Węgiel’s Anton Brehme (8.955 votes) and Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia’s Agustin Loser (8.909 votes). They were in a nip-and-tuck fight with Taylor Constantine Averill, but eventually the American middle blocker, who plays for Mint Vero Volley Monza, registered only 8.656 votes.

The largest number of votes in a single category was registered for the setter position, where Perugia’s Simone Giannelli received 10.456 votes, and made the All-Star team for the current season. Giannelli was followed by the setter of Perugia’s opponent in the semi-finals, Halkbank Ankara’s setter, Micah Ma’a, who had 9.109 votes.

Jastrzębski Węgiel’s libero, Jakub Popiwczak, was also selected in the All-Star team, being voted by 9.315 persons, with over 1.300 votes over the second-placed libero in this category, Gage Thomas Worsley.

The battle for the All-Star coaching position was also decided just in the final days, as Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie’s Michal Winiarski was voted by 8.311 people, followed by Andrea Gardini, with 7.704 votes and Angelo Lorenzetti, with 7.349 votes.

Therefore, all participants in the Final Four are represented in the All-Star team, with two other sides, Knack Roeselare and Berlin Recycling Volleys, also sending one player each to the All-Star team of the 2024/25 season in the CEV Champions League Men.
