CEV Champions League Volley 2025 | Men
Olympiacos Piraeus is back in the CEV Champions League Volley group phase for the second year in a row, following their double win against Corona Brasov from Romania in Round 3.
In front of an enthusiastic crowd at the "Melina Merkouri" Indoor Hall, Olympiacos won the two sets they needed against Corona Brasov, to then close the match in emphatic fashion in straight sets. With nine aces, 10 blocks, Alen Pajenk was the MVP while Atanasijevic, with 21 points and 5 aces was the highest scorer in the match! In the group stages of the top CEV Champions League, “Thrylos” will face Monza from Italy, Fenerbahce from Turkey and Grizzlies from Germany in Pool.
Andrea Gardini"We are happy because we achieved the goal we had. We are in the group stage and this is very good for us, I am proud of the guys! It wasn't easy because in our preparation we were playing qualifying matches. But I'm not satisfied with how we played in the second part of the second set. We lost our concentration and allowed them to come back. We will improve our game because the group stage is difficult. The first goal was achieved."
Alen Pajenk"I am happy for the qualification and the 3-0 victory. We pushed a lot, especially from the serve. We encountered some difficulties in the sets, but we were able to win them. I'm happy that the team fought until the last point."
Despite being eliminated from the CEV Champions League Volley, the European season is not over for the Romanians from Corona Brasov with the team continuing their journey with the 16th Finals of the CEV Volleyball Cup.
