Kuzbass KEMEROVO rule out Verva WARSZAWA Orlen Paliwa
Article
The last and decisive game in the Pool D started tight. Ranked 4th in the standing Kuzbass KEMEROVO started the match with their strongest starting six. Verva WARSZAWA Orlen Paliwa managed to jump to four-point lead in the early stage but it was quickly erased mainly thanks to two aces from Sivozhelez. Then, the game was continued on point-by-point basis, but having the first set point Kemerovo used it confidently with Shcherbakov's block. Second set started with powerful plays from both sides. Warszawa looking for smart plays, built five-point advantage at 15-10, but it was not enough. Kemerovo reduced the gap to two points, but Warszawa took a set win. Andrea Anastasi's team struggled in the start of next set, even if Ivan Zaytsev was far from playing flawless, Kemerovo took 8-5 lead, improving it further up to six points and safely closed that part. With their backs against the wall, Warszawa earned 8-4 lead and were staying ahead with the score even if they were few times in danger they managed to get out of the troubles. They won set point, but their key player Bartosz Kwolek suffered minor injury jumping to block. Thanks to physiotherapists he continued the game in fifth set. Tie-break started with 6-0 lead for Kemerovo. The Russian demolished Warszawa with serve and earn their last victory in this edition.
- Outstanding performance of Evgeny Sivozhelez - 16 points with 72% of success in attack and 70% of positive receptions, 2 aces and 1 block.
- Bartosz Kwolek topped the scorers chart, once Ivan Zaytsev contributed with 18 to Kemerovo's victory.
- Warszawa had to win only nine points in tie-break to win a pool, but it turned out to be impossible for them.

- For both teams it was the second #CLVolleyM season, also both end their campaigns at this stage of competition. Verva Warszawa are ranked 2nd (4W-2L), Kemerovo 4th (2W-4L).
