ASPTT MULHOUSE VB v LP SALO
ASPTT Mulhouse by earning a 3-1 victory over LP Viesti Salo starts, for the first time in its history, the Champions League with success. The Finnish players had, however, the merit to save the honor by realizing the perfect hold-up in the first set. By controlling the situation, Mulhouse was heading towards an easy success by leading 22-17. But Mulhouse's mistakes on the one hand, and a very good service from the Finnish team on the other, resulted in an incredible change of the situation (23-25). More aggressive on serve and on the net, the French champions outclassed Viesti Salo in the 2nd and 3rd sets (25-14 and 25-14) by visible limiting unforced errors and playing a lot through the middle. Well-led by Viktoriia Tuchashvili, the Finnish team continued their effort by competing with Mulhouse until 17-17 in the 4th set. Under the impulse of Amanda Coneo, crowned MVP of this match, ASPTTM made the break (21-17) before completing its effort (25-19) to seal an encouraging victory.
