JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel v Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD
The opening match of the fourth round started with two confident attacks in a row from the Poles. Stephen Boyer opened the scoring. Him and Trévor Clevenot helped his team to take the lead and maintain a comfortable 2-3 point lead. Rafal Szymura risked several times on the serve, but this risk did not materialize. In the middle of the game with an accurate attack Radoslav Parapunov helped Vojvodina get as close to the opponent as possible, in the next rally the Poles touched the ball on the block and then could not take the serve of the Serbs at all. Marcelo Mendez took the first time out at 10-12. The Poles did not immediately regain the advantage. Slobodan Boskan players continued to hold the lead, albeit a minimal one. Both teams made a lot of mistakes on serves. At the end of the game, Stephen Boyer also came out to serve and equalized the score with an ace, but the swing continued until the very end of the game. Jan Hadrava came to the front line of the Polish team, he also put an end to the first set with a powerful serve 25-23 in favor of Jastrzebski.
In the second set, a stubborn struggle continued and here a series of amazing attacks were issued by Maksim Buculjevic, the Serbs, as at the beginning of the last set, looked more confident and seized the initiative, although they still continued to make mistakes on the serve, although Jastrzebski by this moment already had a two-fold advantage in aces 4- 2. And the kill blocks stats were also on their 2-0 side. The teams came to the end of the second game with a score of 20-17 in favor of the hosts. Zecevic came out to serve the Serbs, but failed to live up to expectations by filing into the net. With the score at 22:18 the second time-out was taken by coach Boskan. Łukasz Wisniewski played with the first tempo, bringing his team one more point, and Jan Hadrava again came to close the game with a serve. He knocked down the reception of the defenders Vojvodina and Lukasz just needed to play again with the first pace almost on an empty net.
The third set elicited a slight sense of deja vu as events unfolded in a similar fashion. At the beginning of the set, the Serbian team scored Radoslav Parapunov with effective serves. The teams again went close to each other with a minimal margin and with the score 12-14 Boskan took a timeout. But the answer was Ace Clevenot and the gap was already three points. In the next play, Mehic was able to push the ball into the opponent's double block and bring another point to the team. But according to the classics of this match, the hosts did not miss their chance and got to the end with an advantage of 20-18. They managed to bring the game to the end and let the Serbs score only twice.
