        Decospan VT MENEN
  • After five consecutive losses in its first Champions League campaign, Decospan Menen is determined to finally get a first win. On paper, they have the biggest chance for this against Karlovarsko, in a pool with both last season’s Champions League finalists.
  • Although Decospan Menen lost 3-0 in Karlovarsko, they should have won at least one set, especially after 21-24 in the first set and 24-24 in the second set. Wednesday should be revenge time.
  • Last Saturday, Decospan Menen defeated Leuven (with former internationals Hendrik Tuerlinckx and Mathias Valkiers) by 3-1. After a very bad start of the season, Menen now is third in Belgian League (together with Leuven and Ghent).
  • We expect a lot of spectators for the last European game of this season. Our Champions League main partner Galloo donated 500 free tickets for this game.
  • After the Champions League campaign and with the play-off qualification almost being a given, Decospan’s full focus will shift to the Belgian Cup final on 26 February, where we will meet Knack Roeselare, playing its regular games in the Tomabel Hall.

    ČEZ KARLOVARSKO

  • During our last home match we played against Kedzierzyn Kozle. The long lasting match of 5 sets finally confirmed the supposed favourite team, but winning only by the tightest score in tie-break.
  • Currently we find ourselves on the third place in group D and our last match with Menen can´t change anything. Nevertheless, we keep fighting for the CEV Cup and our final chart position will specify our next quarter-final opponent.
  • We are flying to Belgium without our second libero Martin Kočka who is now under recovery after an unpleasant injury.
  • As for the Czech Extra-League, we go on fighting for the 1st place with Dukla Liberec. Our last match in Quarter-Final of the Czech Cup ended with very lucky triumpf over Prague Lions  in close tie-break.
  • Our MVP in the Champions League Our opposite Kewin Sasak remains stable as our MVP in the Champions League.

“This is my last season as a professional volleyball player and it would be great to win my last European game. After last Saturday’s win, we will start this match with confidence, especially since not only our starting seven is improving its level of play. Last weekend, both wing spiker Vanneste and opposite Dermaux got their chance and grabbed it with both hands. Since we qualified for the Cup Final, the enthusiasm around our team got a serious boost.”
