TRENTINO let there be no mistake as to who was the better team in Trento on Thursday. They claim top spot in Pool E after an emphatic win over VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, who went without a loss so far. The serving and blocking of the Italian team was off the charts, forcing the Germans to chase. The numbers almost speak for themselves: 0-3 (19-25, 18-25, 18-25). Ricardo Lucarelli was named the MVP.

Beforehand FRIEDRICHSHAFEN were probably the favourites in this match, they had only lost one set and managed to beat NOVOSIBIRSK 3-0 on Wednesday. But TRENTINO didn't waste any time showing they were the only team with a rightful claim at the top spot. Srecko Lisinac performed top of his game, youngster Alessandro Michieletto had a great run on the outside as the substitute for an injured Dick Kooy. Nimir Abdel-Aziz was playing as a setter again, but it didn't stop him from scoring 10 points, 5 of which were aces.
