Jastrzebski Wegiel outclassed in three sets the #CLVolleyM rookies from Hebar Pazardzhik. The Polish team dominated on all counts, but it was their excellent game on the blocking (12 compared to one by Hebar) and at the service line (nine aces to only one by their opponents) that helped them seize the victory in less than an hour. Jurij Gladyr of the winning team, with 13 points to his name, and 88% efficiency in attack, was named MVP of the game

The opposite of Jastrzębski Węgiel, Stephen Boyer, who suffered a metacarpal fracture and is facing an operation in France, was not on the roster of the Polish squad in the Tuesday game. However, the hosts counted on the support of the Olympic champion Trevor Clevenot, who actually made his debut in Europe’s elite competition, finishing with three successful blocks to his name. 

The encounter was an  interesting one also for the setter of the Bulgarian team - Gjorgi Gjorgiev, who, in the previous, competed in the hall in Jastrzębie as a player of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. Another player of Hebar, the libero Teodor Salparov, also was familiar with the Polish court, as he had faced in his career the home team, playing for the team of Zenit Kazan.
