Despite being already qualified for the final eight teams, TRENTINO brought in the big guns against ČEZ KARLOVARSKO. For two sets the Italian team struggled to get past the Czech side, but in the end the power of TRENTINO prevailed. With this win they have recorded their ninth victory of the 2021 CEV Champions League Volley campaign, as they were present from the first round of this year's tournament. This was their final match of Round 4, tomorrow's match against FvB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN was cancelled because of the German team's withdrawal after several Covid-19 cases within the team. ČEZ KARLOVARSKO will face Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK on Thursday, the Russian team will finish second in Pool E. If KARLOVARSKO get three points, they wil surpass FRIEDRICHSHAFEN in the ranking.

It was a hard fought match from the start, KARLOVARSKO played their hearts out. Especially Lukasz Wiese was in great shape, scoring as may as 11 points in the first two sets. Margins were thin between the two teams, TRENTINO had one block and two scoring spikes more than the Czechs in the first set. In set 2 it was even closer, just one attack and one error separating them, now it was KARLOVARSKO with the advantage.

From the third set on TRENTINO shifted up a gear and setter Giannelli got his hard hitting opposite Nimir Abdel-Aziz involved. The Dutchman led the way for his team with 11 points in the final two sets. TRENTINO will win Pool E with six wins and 17 points.
