From the first actions of the match , the hosts focused on a very aggressive play, which turned out to be a key element in the opening set. The first ace was of Kamil Semeniuk and the locals took the lead 3: 1. Then Łukasz Kaczmarek scored two points (12: 7) presenting very convincing serve and it was Aleksander Śliwka who ended the action . With a series of his fantastic services (4 aces), ZAKSA managed to jump ahead  from 18:13 to 23:13.The second part only at the beginning was more even  but the hosts controlled the course of events on the court and maintained a 2-3 point advantage. This time, ZAKSA defended and counterattacked much better.  After such actions, successfully ended by Norbert Huber and Łukasz Kaczmarek, the hosts gained an 18:14 advantage. Jastrzębski Węgiel did not find a way to make up for the losses and after two sets, ZAKSA and the fantastically encouraging supporters could celebrate their promotion to the Champions League final.

For the third set, coach George Cretu put up his second six, which competed equally with the strongest line up of Jastrzebski. It was 10:10 after Staszewski's attack. Then the volleyball players from Jastrzębie gained the advantage. Tomasz Fornal and Jakub Macyra showed aces, Stephen Boyer used the counterattack and the visitors managed to jump ahead to 23:19. ZAKSA did not give up, the ace was sent by Krzysztof Rejno, and after Wojciech Żaliński's counterattack, it was again a draw 24:24. However, the visitors won the two decisive balls.In the fourth set, the teams scored points in series. First, the visitors produced the advantage of 4: 1, but after a few actions there was a draw of 5. Later, volleyball players from Kędzierzyn-Koźle (10: 7) gained the advantage, but the visitors quickly led to a draw 14:14. After another series, the team from Jastrzębie jumped back at 21:17 and did not give up this advantage securing a victory in the fourth part of the game.So the tie break was decisive for winning the match. After Staszewski's attack, the 4: 2 advantage was taken by volleyball players from Kędzierzyn-Koźle. After the change of sides, the hosts showed off with two more blocks and convincingly won the whole encounter 3:2.

The MVP of the match, Łukasz Kaczmarek, who was 64% effective in the attack, admitted that it was one of the happiest days in his life. - I knew that after winning the first set easily, we would have to play carefully in the second part. Halfway through the set, I felt that today is our day and we are going to the final.

- I wish you good luck in the final, today we did not manage to repay ZAKSA, who performed brilliantly in the first two sets of the encounter. I will not complain, but our health problems did have indeed an impact on our attitude in matches with my former team. I hope we will be ready for a revenge in the fight for the Polish Championship - Jastrzębski Węgiel captain Benjamin Toniutti summed up the match.
